Reading Music

How easy do you think it would be to explain to someone else how to read music? Think about the notes that you know on your instrument. Practise drawing them and think about how what you will need to include in your lesson – the clef, the music stave (the five long lines), how the notes go up and down, the letters used. Can you find someone to be your pupil? It doesn’t have to be someone in your house – you could do an on-line lesson.

When you have finished giving your lesson make sure that your pupil has learnt what you taught them. How will you do this?
