Instrumental Teaching
I have been teaching the violin and cello at Worthington Primary School since April 2009.
Lessons are held during school hours and are group lessons charged at the standard group lesson fee. Parents receive invoices and information including news about future events and exams directly from myself. All queries should be sent to me. Lessons take place on Fridays during the school day.
We generally perform two concerts a year – one just before the Easter holidays and one in the Summer. At Christmas we have an open rehearsal with the string orchestra and parents can come to hear us play Christmas Carols.
String Orchestra
The String Orchestra gives all the violin and cello players an opportunity to play as a group. We first meet up in December for a Christmas Carol afternoon. We meet up again at the end of the Summer term to perform in a concert for the school.
Recorder Club
The Recorder Club is held at lunchtime on Fridays. It offers an opportunity for the children to learn a musical instrument and enjoy playing in a group more cheaply than in a traditional music lesson. All children are welcome, whether they currently play another instrument or not.
